Xavier Espot receives Hugh Elliot this morning at the Government headquarters SFGA/CEsteve

This morning, the Government and the United Kingdom signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a youth mobility program - Youth Mobility Scheme (YMS) -. The aim is to facilitate the granting of a residence and work permit to young people aged between 18 and 30 in the respective territories. The formalization of the agreement has been carried out by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Imma Tor and the ambassador of the United Kingdom in Andorra, Hugh Elliott who has traveled to the Principality. In the same visit, he met with the head of government, Xavier Spot and ministers Jordi Torres and Conxita Marsol.



The agreement facilitates the acquisition of a visa to live and work in the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland for an initial period of 12 months extendable up to 24 months. Initially, the program will have a total of 100 places for each of the countries and will enter into force from 2024 with the corresponding communication of the opening of the call and the specific requirements to be able to access it.
