Jean-Claude Tribelet has made a very positive assessment of the year and has highlighted the cultural and linguistic weight
The excellent relationship between the French country and the Principality has been the central axis of this year's activity, as commented by the French ambassador, Jean-Claude Triboulet, in the framework of the celebration of the National Day of July 14. Triboulet highlighted the good cooperation with the Government, the good health of the French language in the country and the recovery of the cultural field, especially after the years of Covid-19.
On the one hand, the French education fair in the country has been renewed for this year due to the promotion of the language and the success of the previous year's edition. The event will take place on November 23 at the Andorra la Vella Congress Center and is expected to welcome twenty French schools and universities, both for the students of the Lycée and for Andorran and Spanish students. As indicated by Tribelet, there is an increase in young people leaving to study in the neighboring country and Catalan and Spanish-speaking schools are increasingly asking for French language assistants, an initiative that is intended to be accelerated for the 2023-2024 school year .
On the other hand, Tribelet has also highlighted the weight that culture is taking on in the Principality, an area that the pandemic had limited, but which, according to the ambassador, has recovered in recent months and will start with more force from towards 2024 with more events scheduled. Cross-border agreement Bilateral cooperation has not been left behind, given that yesterday the French ambassador and Pierre-André Durand, manager of Occitanic, met to discuss the improvement of border access, the construction of an avalanche barrier in the customs area and the desire to shorten the road that connects Andorra and Toulouse. Tribelet has recalled that it is a matter of vital importance in the country due to the complications of the mountainous area and has indicated that the talks will be addressed again next October.
