The works, budgeted for 1.9 million euros, will have a final cost of around 2.4 million, just below the 20% deviation
The Doctor Villanova viaduct will reopen to traffic in May 2024. The extension of the rehabilitation contract with the construction company was awarded at the council meeting held yesterday afternoon. The works, budgeted for just over 1.9 million euros, will have a final cost of around 2.4 million, a figure that is just below the 20% deviation, the maximum limit allowed by the Law of public procurement. Specifically, the increase is 381,605 euros.
The cost overrun is explained, as detailed by the Consul Major, David Astrid, in statements to the media, because during the works the technicians have come to the conclusion that it is necessary to replace the 12 beams of the structure, instead of cleaning them up, as planned at the beginning. The representative pointed out that the current beams of the viaduct will be reused to build the new road on Carrier Doctor Villanova. The placement of the new, waterproofed beams will require the use of a large crane, which will be installed in the coming weeks. Once the work has been completed, the infrastructure will be able to support the passage of vehicles weighing up to 40 tones (until now the limit was 16 tones). MORE EXPENDITURE FOR LIGHTING
On the other hand, the common council also approved a package of credit supplements for a total amount of 439,403.54 euros. The most important, of 270,000, will be used to finance the expenditure derived from the increase in the communal lighting bill following the withdrawal of the 2% bonus, a measure FEDA took in November following the energy crisis. Another supplement, of 76,945 euros, will cover additional costs of the comprehensive reform of the children's play area of the Central Park, such as the increase in the surface of rubber and grass and the rehabilitation of the irrigation system. It is also worth noting a third supplement, of 50,000 euros, which will cover the increase in the selective collection of cardboard, as prices have risen and collection days have been extended. SECTORIZATION
Another of the issues discussed in the common council was the digitization and sectorization of the communal drinking water supply network, a project that the Diary already advanced a few weeks ago. The computer program will make it possible to have real-time data on the flow in the network to act immediately in situations of urgent resolution - such as, for example, a leak - and to plan maintenance and improvement actions. With this objective in mind, the common council decided to award the digitization works to the company Aquarium, SLU, for an amount of 457,342 euros and a period of execution of seven months.
THE PK, FOR COMPANIES ACROSS THE COUNTRY
Companies and businesses with residence or registered office in a parish other than Andorra la Vella will also be able to apply for the PK card from now on, which offers the first hour of free parking and discounts on the rate from the second hour in the communal parking lots. The common council yesterday approved a change in the ordering of public prices to extend the coverage of this parking service to companies, which until now was limited to companies and businesses located in the parish of Andorra la Vella . The measure is taken to respond to the demands received and, at the same time, to alleviate improper parking and the saturation that is generated in the loading and unloading areas. Apart from companies, all citizens resident in Andorra can apply for the PK card.
During the session, another modification of the ordering of public prices was approved to adjust the prices of the passes for activities held in the artistic schools of the cultural center La Llacuna, which aim to reward student loyalty .
